History

With three campuses at Lin'an, Huanglong,Binjiang, one scientific innovation center at Qingshanhu, Hangzhou Medical College covers an area of about 237 acres with a gross building area of 403,600 square meters. It possesses teaching and scientific research instruments valued at CNY412 million as well as more than 13 domestic and foreign authoritative databases.The college has one directly affiliated hospital (Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital), 14 indirectly affiliated hospitals,and over 200 off-campus practical teaching and training bases.

Since 2018, Hangzhou Medical College has obtained 713 research projects at provincial, ministerial, and national levels,including 260 national research projects.Other achievements include: 21 awards for projects at provincial, ministerial, and national levels; 1,223 patents authorized by the national administration; Over 500 research papers published in renowned domestic and international journals each year; Academic·journals publicly published and distributed, such as International Journal of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases, Zhejiang Practical Medicine,and Zhejiang Medical Education.

Intermational Cooperation and Exchange

Adhering to open education, the college has established partnerships with 31 universities, including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Southern Connecticut State University, University of South Wales, and University of Coimbra, to conduct joint student training programs, promote international student exchanges, and broaden global perspectives. Since 2024, the college has begun enrolling international students for Master of Basic Medicine programs. Faculty training programs have been established with Belarusian State University, Chiang Mai University, and other institutions to facilitate overseas professional development platforms for teachers. International professors and experts from the UK, Portugal, Romania, Japan, and the Netherlands have been recruited to advance faculty internationalization. The college hosts international academic conferences such as the “China-Romania Biomedical Large-scale Online Research Symposium” and the “2025 Health Science International Symposium”. International joint research organizations have been established, including the Zhejiang-Africa Health Research Institute, Zhejiang-Netherlands International Joint Laboratory for Advanced Biomaterials Innovation, R&D, and Clinical Translation in Oral Tissue Regeneration, Zhejiang-Thailand Joint Laboratory for Cardiovascular Disease Research, and Zhejiang-Finland Joint Laboratory for Rehabilitation Exoskeleton Robots, promoting international academic cooperation and exchange. At present,the college has become a member of international platforms such as “Belt and Road” International Medical Education Alliance(BRIMEA),China Education Association for International Exchange, China-CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium, China Association of Higher Education Branch of the Importation of Intelligence from Abroad, and the “China-Arab Universities 10+10 Cooperation Plan”, marking a significant improvement in its international education standards.
